After the undersigned had gathered the Wends and Germans that lived on the West Yegua in Burleson County, Texas about 14 miles north of Serbin, and
had served them in the previous years, they had the joy, on their part, to get their own pastor in the person of Candidate Johann Proft, an earlier
student at the Practical Seminary in St. Louis. The same was ordained and installed in his office in behalf of the congregation on the 12th Sunday
after Trinity.
May God’s blessings be with him and his congregation! The readers of the “Lutheraner” certainly will receive the news with joy when they hear that our
precious Lutheran Church, also in the great expanse of Texas, have had, by and by, one after another door opened to them.
