https://www.texaslandrecords.com/txlr/controller allows for free searches of the deeds of some counties. Lee & Fayette are not there but Wilbarger is and quite a few Wends moved around the Vernon area.

Viewing the index is free but printing copies of the deeds is $1 per page which is pretty cheap compared to traveling to a court house. I've printed some for my family and they are very readable.
