In the evening of July 4th, the wife of Pastor Pallmer in Serbin died. On the 5th of July, Pastor Kilian honored the deceased with a talk at the St. Peter’s parsonage on John 8:51. She was buried with a talk by her widower at the graveside.

After the burial, the widower became sick with a fever, and had several attacks one day after another. But the fever was soon gotten under control through medication. He was able to go out and seemingly was well again. On August 20 in the evening, he visited Pastor J. Kilian and was feeling well enough to eat a deep plate of homemade barley and hops soup that Pastor Kilian’s wife had prepared.

On August 21, came the news that Pastor Pallmer, on this day, again had become sick. Pastor Kilian himself got sick on August 25. But he was still able to once more, on Tuesday, August 26, visit Pastor Pallmer. On August 27, Pastor Kilian came down with a severe fever, so that he could no longer go out and had to have the Sunday service read.

Both Pastor Pallmer and Pastor Kilian saw each other for the last time in this world on August 26.

In the morning at 11:00 o’clock on September 1, our Brother in the Ministry passed away, just as the bells were ringing for the oncoming funeral procession in remembrance of [Bertha Becker] a soon to be 10-year old school girl who had died. So he went home with the sound of the bells.

On the 3rd Sunday in Advent 1870, Pastor J. Kilian had installed him in the St. Peter Church.

On August 31, after the Wendish worship service and just before the German worship service began, a thunderstorm hit the steam mill of Th. Wukasch. One of the miller’s girls was on the way, and her handkerchief was torn from her hands. A rider was thrown off his horse. Otherwise, there was no damage.

In the Cross Church in Fayette County, three ministers from the Texas Synod, as one heard, were celebrating their departure on August 24, the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity. A number of those who belonged to the named church, were in church at St. Paul.

Am 4ten Juni Abends starb die Frau des Pastors Pallmer in Serbin, und am 5ten Juni wurd ihr leichnam ehrte Pastor Kilian mit einer Rede im Pfaarhause zu St. Petri über Joh. 8, 51 und mit einer Grabrede des Witwers beerdigt.

Nach der Beerdigung erkrankte der Witwer am Fieber u hatte etliche Anfalls einen Tag um den andern. Doch wurde dieses Fieber bald undergeschlagen durch Medicin. Er ging nun wieder herum scheinbar gesund. Am 20sten August besuchte er Abends den Pastor J. Kilian u aß bei ihm noch mit Wohlbehagen einen tiefes Teller eines zu Hause gemachten Gerstenhopfenbieres das P. Kilians Frau bereitet.

Am 21sten August kam die Nachricht P. Pallmer sei wieder an diesem Tage krank geworden. P. Kilian noch einmal besuchen. Am 27sten August überfiel den Pastor Kilian ein so schweres Fieber das er nicht mehr ausgehen konnte auch Sonntags lessen lassen musste.

Wir beide P. Pallmer und P. Kilian haben am 26sten August uns zum letzten mal in dieser Welt gesehen.

Am 1sten September Vormittags 11 Uhr entschliest unser Amtsbruder P. Pallmer gerade als man bei uns einen herankommenden Leichenzuge zu ehren ein bald 10 jährigen Schulmädchen war gestorben anfing zu leuten. Unter Glockentonen ging er heim.

Den 3ten Adventssonntag 1860 führte ihn der Pastor J. Kilian in der Kirche zu St.Petri ein.

Am 31sten August schlug nach den Wendischen Gottesdienste, ehe der Deutsche Gottesdienst anging, ab der Dampfmühle Th. Wukaschs das Gewitter. Am einen Mädchen aus den Muhlerdamen unterwegs ward das Schumftig aus der Hand geristen. Ein Reiter fiel umweit das Wetter schlages vom Pferde. Sonst kein schade.

In the Kreuzkirche Fayette Co. haben Geistliche der Texas Synode wie man hörte, 3 ihren ersten Austritt gefeiert am 24sten August Dom. XI F. Trinit. Mehrere deren zur namend Gemeinde gehören waren aber zu St. Paul in der Kirche.
