We have your books. You will find the bill for the purchased books in the amount of $16.00 Gold at the end of the letter. Please reimburse us accordingly.

We sent the crates to Mr. R. Leisewitz in Brenham.

The books had been insured for 200 Thaler in Bremen, Germany. 200 Thaler equals 220 Courants. This would be enough money for the received crates, which you paid.

As we had written to you already, C. L. Knauer & Son will reorder the books. If you plan to place a larger order, you may pay it through us. It is necessary to have a new certificate from the American Consul reflecting that these books are for the use of your congregation and not for resale.

Wir sind im Besitz Ihrer gesandten Bücher und befündigen Ihnen am Fusse die Rechnung über die für Sie eingekauften Bücher betragend in Gold $16, die Sie uns zusenden wollen.

Wir sandten die Kisten an Herrn R. Leisewitz in Brenham.

Die Bücher waren in Bremen für 200 Taler versichert, dies macht also circa 220 Taler Kurants und würden hinreichend sein für eingelaufene Kästen Bücher wie Sie sie hatten zu bezahlen.

Wie wir Ihnen schon schrieben, werden die Herrn C. L. Knauer & Son die Bücher wieder für Sie bestellen, und wenn Sie eine grössere Bestellung machen sollten, und der Betrag grösser wird, so können Sie dies durch uns hier bezahlen. Es ist notwendig, für die nächste Sendung ein neues Zerfifikat vom Amerikanischen Konsulat zu haben, dass die Bücher für Ihre Gemeinde und nicht zum Verkauf sind.
