A. 161. The Choice
(from Schmerliz)
Translated by H. Melvin Symmank
There opposite by the sea,
There stands a castle so majestic,
In the castle are two young girls
Who like you very much.
The one embroideries head cloths,
The other aprons,
And she who embroideries the most beautiful,
She should then be mine.
The youngest will be mine,
She embroideries so beautifully, so beautifully;
The oldest should remain there
And attend to the title.
