The Wendish Research Exchange

1 May 2012

"Our mission is to document the Wendish/Sorbian experience through research, information exchange, collaboration, and the promotion of related projects."

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society has an online research exchange where members can benefit themselves and others. It is called the Wendish Research Exchange - most content may be viewed by all, with the online genealogical database viewable to only members of the society. You can view the website by using the address www.wendishresearch.org. You gain interactive access to the Forum by registering with the Forum at no cost.

The website is the public face of the Wendish Research Exchange. The objective is the strengthening of the Texas Wendish Heritage Society by making the society a focal point of Wendish research through the collaboration of Wendish researchers of all kinds, and the collection of Wendish documents and artifacts for the museum. When appropriate, the collection of documents through digitization and their transliteration, translation, and historical interpretation is performed.

As we progress we will be promoting interest in recording and disseminating information covering a wide range of topics, including presentations of historically significant documents in various formats.

Up to this point we have been able to do this with a limited staff of volunteers of society members. We hope to be able to add to this volunteer staff and have a more diverse representation of skills available to accomplish our goals. If you think you would like to be involved in the mechanics of the website, a more thorough description of needs and method to volunteer can be found at http://researchproject.info.

If you would like to receive information about the Wendish Research Exchange electronically go to http://researchproject.info and type in your name and email address and we will communicate with you electronically. This will also make sure that we have your email address if you have not submitted it to us previously.
